One of Those Nights......

Will it become one of those days? Sadie has been coming into our bed repeatedly throughout the night for the past few nights. At times I have both girls in the bed with me. One on each side. Last night was a bad one. I kept putting her in her bed & I kept hearing footsteps coming back down the hall into my room. Sleep was interrupted many times last night. Shot this photo of myself headed out the door this morning (unshowered) to story time.

I'm loving my new corduroy pants for fall & my jean jacket picked up on a super duper Gap sale for $7 a few years back. Hoping today is not a carryover of the really bad night that I had last night. Of course what chore has to get done today? Grocery shopping. Not a good one when we're all a little sleepy & cranky. Wish me luck.

***Just a few days left to sign up for the garland swap!!! Come on, all the cool kids are doing it. And, if you are participating, feel free to post a link on your blog. Remember, you have until Thursday to sign up***

Dylan's comments always make me laugh. Boy, do I know what you're going through, too! Thank goodness we can have occasional good night, or else I think we would die! Hope your day goes better than your night. You're a good mom to still be out the door for storytime!

I know how you feel Candace. We go through that a bit with our twins and things have been extra tough for over a week now - they have had really bad colds. I'm almost as exhausted as when they were infants.
I just try (when they are healthy) to keep taking them back to their bed - sometimes I lay with them for a minute - if I stay any longer I run the risk of falling asleep in their beds and that's not the message I want to send to them. I have discovered that putting them on the toilet helps - they either have to go or they get tired of me putting them on the toiled and would rather just be in their own bed(s).
Hang in there. Sometimes it's hard to remember but it's all worth it.
P.S. working on my blog - just haven't had time to figure out how to post photos - right now I'm a 'photoshop-moron' - need to learn all this fun stuff.

Candace, I really want to do the goodie swap, but I don't think I'll be able to do anything crafty. It sounds like fun, but I don't think I can committ. By the way, you look so goo!

Candace~ I am soooooooo sorry! Michael has been just crying and wanting me to sleep in his bed. Not comfy five months pregnant. I had one of those night last night and I feel bad but have no motivation to do ANYTHING today! Anyways on the flip side. i have to tell you I check out some of your old posts of recipes and made the Treasure Hunt Pasta and LOVED IT!!! I finally finished it at lunch. It makes a lot for our little family!!

i havnt checked your blog in a while, your baby is getting so big! she is darling... and i can totally sympathize with you, my oldest recently remembered how to get out of her crib! ahh so annoying to have 2 in bed!!! and i dont even know how to describe her current state of cranky/snottieness do to the lack of naps.... "just keep swimming... just keep swimming" that was from one of your previos posts right?

I love seeing pictures of you, cuz you are such a babe! I can totally relate. Aubrey sleeps on our bedroom floor right now and two nights ago, woke up and refused to go back to bed. We went outside and locked her in our room until she layed down in her "bed" on the floor. But then we were getting kicked out of our room! So I need to put her back in hers again. Only problem is she has to share with Zach and I'm scared to death that they'll both wake eachother up all night long. Courage, and yes, "just keep swimming"...

we are sooo going through the "hop in the bed in the middle of the night" blues too! the other night we were like a supernanny episode with the little counter in the corner of the screen for how many times we had put her back to bed. for over an hour! and that was just at bedtime, in the middle of the night was just as bad! i sympathize. caffeine always helps. so do a few prayers. hang in there. this too shall pass. :)

wow! looks like i'm not the only one having active nights.

alexandra - let me know when you get that blog up! good idea about putting them on the toilet.

cherine - that is a good recipe. glad you liked it.

lauren - "just keep swimming" wasn't from me.....but it made me laugh. thanks.

janae - don't be worried about putting them in the room together. they get used to each others noises. claire is not the reason why sadie has been waking up.

jenna - the suppernanny counter comment made me laugh too.

thanks guys. you're the best.
