Todd Family Tradition
Out to look at lights on Christmas Eve. Dylan has done this his whole life. Santa comes to their house while they're out & they get to open presents when they get home. The past 4 or 5 years we've gone to this trailer park where one trailer is all decked out. The yard is set up with all these mannequins doing fun wintery, holiday stuff. It's creepy....& that's why we keep going back.

Totally creepy fun! Love it!!!
That does seem kinda creepy. My family had the same tradition growing up (lights, Santa, presents, etc)...guess we weren't the only ones!
As much as that place terrifies, it warms some weird corner of my heart to know it exists. Your pictures of it rule, by the way.
That is weird. Where's it at? Maybe we'll have to check it out next year but it might give Avry nightmares.
That is hilarious! Creepy, but hilarious!
I think my kids would have nightmares dancing in their heads instead of sugarplums. So do you do Christmas like he did or like you grew up?
This just made me laugh out loud, so funny. I might have to check it out sometime :) Have they ever met the owners of the trailer? That would be interesting....what a great tradition!
It's funny because we all stand around just dumbstruck and terrified and we're all laughing at it (because we are all bad people like that, laughing at hours and hours of work to position those roboticized mannequins and dolls just so) and without fail someone from the house always comes out to take the trash out or something and we all instantaneously start pretending like it's not hilarious and/or creepy and are all, "Oh, it's gorgeous." or "We love it."
It's way awkward. And it's what makes Christmas, Christmas.
freaky, freaky! but that is fun to have a little traditon in the family. good for you.
you guys are so funny!
I love Dylan's last explanation- THAT is hilarious! You're so nice to pretend to love the mania!
