Unplanned Haircut

The day was going so well. Claire was down for a nap. I was preparing dinner early (a chicken salad that needed to be refrigerated). Sadie was watching a movie. I didn't realize that she was eating candy & had gotten her scissors to cut open the candy wrappers. I finish my dinner & come out of the kitchen to her smiling face. But it's that real sneaky kinda smile. She knew she'd done something bad. "I cut my hair!!!", she said.

Great! I cried. I took her to a mirror & then she cried. "I do not want to be a boy" was what she kept saying. Then we went to get it fixed. As you can tell, life goes on as normal for her...except she's not allowed to use scissors.

I am SO SORRY!
Why do little girls always think they have to cut their own hair?
They fixed her up pretty good though! Love the bow.
The video is great...my kids kept wanting me to play it again.
She's a doll, and it will grow back!

That's awesome. So funny and so sad. I'll never forget when I got gum stuck in my hair and my mom had to take me to get it cut after she cut the gum out. It was in the worst spot possible and so much of my hair had gotten in it. Man, that bit.

Wow, it sounds like you handled that REALLY well! I haven't dealt with that yet, but I'm sure I will. I know my mom did. :) Hopefully she'll remember this and won't do it again. No matter her haircut, she's still adorable. It looks like they did a good job on fixing it.

Is that a little girl thing to do? I have never experienced that! I probably would have cried too.

When my only girl told me she wanted her hair like her brothers, I hid all the scissors I could find. It's definitely a girl thing.

She is pretty darn cute though - with any hairstyle - maybe she was going for the 'Lotta' too!

WOW! I don't know what I would do if my girls did that. Luckily it hasn't happened....yet! They did a great job of fixing it though. It's totally cute. I love that she wanted to play ponies with you. Kids just go with the flow!

That video is the cutest thing ever. Yes, honey, I'll play pony with you. Cute cute haircut.

I happen to like short cuts on little girls, though, so I think she looks darling!

And isn't she a ham!

Oh, my gosh, the picture with her furrowed brows is ADORABLE!!!!!!

I cut my bangs when I was a little girl. It was a mess, but the pictures are adorable. :)

Super cute video!
