Vintage Nightgown Patterns

Sadie has been asking me to make her a nightgown for quite some time now. Her request once again before bed a few nights ago sent me on an etsy search for vintage nightgown patterns & I think I'm obsessed now. I may try a vintage pattern for Christmas pajamas for the girls this year. Here are a few of my favorites:

Some of those are really cute. Maybe I should try something like that for my girls for Christmas. I'm sure they would love it. Thanks for always inspiring!

i love all your cute sewing things. It is so great to create cute things. I have endured 2 miscarriages as well. It has been almost 3 years and I still grieve. I hear of a sister-in-law expecting or see a cute baby at Target and it hits me.
I talk about it more in depth on my website mytagbag.com . I am sorry for your loss.

my grandma made me a nightgown very similar to the second pattern when i was younger. i wore them until they were basically see-through. knit fabric is definitely the most comfortable. i've made pajamas out of woven fabric, and they're just never quite as comfy.

Candace, check out this link...perhaps these could be gifts for Christmas! I recently became obsessed with vintage apron patterns and this one left me gobsmacked...I feel I must make my husband and me a matching pair! http://orlisawyer.blogspot.com/2009/10/what-we-miss-from-70s.html

I love long nightgowns. The year before I got married I had my mom make me a white one for Christmas. I wore it a lot then, but Dave didn't appreciate it like I did. Once he told me I looked like a ghost. Sigh.

I might need to make Ana's christmas jammies from something like this. So adorable!

Oh the memories! Both of my daughters always wore nightgowns like the white one in the second picture. I always thought they looked so cute and cozy in them.

When my 1st grandaughter came along my daughter found one at a thrift store for her and she was just precious in it. It was like a 12 month size. Cute!!!

So yes please do make your girls some nightwear out of these patterns and post pictures too!!!!!

I just found your blog and I already love it!!
