Giveaway - $25 Fresh & Easy Gift Cards

Since moving back to Las Vegas, I've found myself shopping at fresh & easy a lot. Dylan & I went together on our first trip. We were both pleased with the layout of the store, how clean it is & how nicely everything is presented on the shelves. We love the simple but modern design of the product packaging & think the tasting station is awesome!

Just before Thanksgiving, I was invited to attend a blogger event hosted by fresh & easy. See their post on it here. We got to prepare a whole Thanksgiving dinner! It was super fun & yummy. I already knew that I loved fresh & easy before that night, though.

My favorite recipe from that night was Sauteed Sweet Potatoes w/ Spinach. Here it is:

3 Tbsp. Olive Oil
6 large sweet potatoes, peeled & diced
2 cloves of sliced garlic
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 red bell peppers, sliced
2 bags fresh & easy chopped spinach 16 oz.
salt & pepper to taste

1. Heat oil in a large skillet (over medium heat) and sautee sweet potatoes until soft, about 8 minutes.
2. Add nutmeg & bell peppers. Cook for another two minutes. Transfer to a bowl.
3. Sautee spinach in the now empty skillet until just wilted. Add cooked spinach to bowl. Season with salt & pepper to taste. Toss spinach & sweet potatoes until combined.

In Ohio I had become used to shopping at a store called Aldi . The things that I loved about Aldi were the small store square footage. It makes for quick trips! I don't have to walk from one end of a gigantic store to the other end & then back again when I forget something on my list, with kids in tow. The retailer saved on overhead by having a small store & passed those savings onto shoppers with lower priced products. So I was thrilled to find the same set up here in Las Vegas at fresh & easy.

Some of the other things that I love about fresh & easy:

* I can always find parking close to the store front & love their reserved spots for "adults with children" & "hybrid vehicles".
* They are friends to the environment.
* All fresh & easy brand products are made with no artificial colors or added trans fats.
* Shoppers pay for their groceries at a self checkout station. They are fast & efficient. Not like most at other grocery stores. I've never had to wait for assistance because the machine didn't like the weight of my product when I set it down on the conveyor belt.

Some of our favorite fresh & easy brand products are:

* rosemary focaccia dough. Just spread the dough out on your baking sheet & pop it in the oven. It's so good!
* caramel popcorn.
* whole wheat bagels.
* tofu. It's only 98 cents. I'm pretty excited about this as I'm about to get started on an almost entirely meatless diet. More about that later. :)
* all the easy & convenient produce packs.

Fresh & Easy stores are located in Nevada, California & Arizona. Today I have two $25 fresh & easy gift cards to give away. I will choose two winners at random. To enter the giveaway, please leave a comment telling me what your favorite fresh & easy product is, or what your favorite store feature is. I will announce the two winners on January 5th. Good luck!

Also, be sure to sign up for the fresh & easy newsletter. They send really great coupons & you'll receive a coupon for a free reuseable shopping bag with a $10 purchase as soon as you sign up!

I love that you can do self check out and that its so easy to find things. You really don't need row upon row of the same thing like in the grocery store!

Yay! I love F & E! My family and I go there about once a week. I'd say our favorite F&E brand item that we get is knock-off Pirate Booty. My kids (and husband) go through a bag of that stuff in about a day. There are so many other things I like though, that was just one that kind of stood out in my mind.

I don't have a Fresh and Easy in my town, but they are popping up all oer San Diego I have noticed, so I'm sure it won't be long. I like the idea of a smaller store, and the parking spaces for parents with kids? How amazingly thoughtful.... ;)

We don't have one yet, but they just broke ground. You make me want to try it right when they open!

I love the granola. It's perfect with yogurt. They built one by my house but it has sat empty for over a year! Open already!

I like the F&E brand white rice and their frozen Shepherd's Pie.

On a side note... my friend's sister wrote a blog post titled...I'm signing you off Fresh and Easy saying why she disliked the store and F & E actually commented on her post. I thought that was interesting!

They are actually very interested to know what customers are saying. And if it's negative, they want to improve their experience. I think that's pretty awesome. Wish more stores took that much interest in their customers opinions. I'm not saying that f&e is perfect for everybody, but i'm really happy with them.

I also love that fresh and easy is a smaller size store, which really simplifies shopping with kids in tow.

i like this list. i created an opposite list while waiting in a very long line for a huge chain store in our area. i said to myself, "i bet i can come up with 20 reasons why i shouldn't shop here anymore." but i actually came up with 24 reasons. that's pretty bad! it is refreshing to hear someone is actually enjoying their shopping experience.

I love their granola - sooo delicious and super cheap!

I always get such a feeling of calm in Fresh & Easy - which is not always possible in other grocery stores.

They just opened a F&E in our town (well outside the base about 5 miles). I have been thinking about going but hadn't heard anything about it and since we have ver specific shopping needs and have to take 3 little ones I just didn't feel like going and not being able to get all that we needed and then still having to make a trip to our normal store (not that I like our normal store but they have about 98% of what we need). I can't wait to go check them out this week. My husband leaves next week and it would be so nice to be able to make a quick run to the store while one kiddo is at school and actually be able to get what I want and not have to spend all day and an arm in the process.
Thanks for the info.

I love this store too! That was something I was actually excited about when moving back to AZ, we have a Fresh and Easy, a Trader Joes, a Sprouts, and a Whole foods all within a couple miles of us! I love their tomato and basil veggie crisps...they are seriously so delicious and flavorful, and healthy too!

Too bad we live so close, yet still so far away! Maybe sometime we can meet up somewhere!

After moving to AZ from Ohio I was dreading having to change my food shopping routine. (Though I was crazy excited to live closer to a Trader Joe's!) When I found F&E I was in heaven! I LOVE the compact size of the store. So easy to find everything... The thing I love most is their large selection of "alternative" foods. My hubby has dietary restrictions, and I can always find lots of Dairy-free or Gluten-free products that are super healthy and are low cost. I also love the people who work at my local store. They are always so happy to help and seem to really love the store as much as I do.

You MUST try F&E's snickerdoodles...they are divine!

I heart Fresh n Easy!! Kind of embarassing to say this but I love their 50% off deal...end of day they mark down expiring soon items. You can buy and freeze bread or pasta etc that is almost at the "best by" date for like 90 cents! :)
Also, I'm with you on the tofu! I'm vegetarian and it's one of the only proteins my daughter will eat (she isn't vegetarian) but she loves it :)
(Found you via LBB btw, I'm a friend :)
Love your blog, will come back more!!

I'm always making special trips to Fresh and Easy for their orange juice and their ice cream. Also, I really like how they discount items that are close to expiration. I've gotten some really good deals by being on the lookout for those markdowns. I can't believe I've never noticed the "adults with children" parking spots. Too cool!
