Holdin' On Together

A few weeks ago Dylan & I laid in bed in the dark & chatted a bit before rolling over & falling asleep.  I mentioned something about the Raisin Bran that I had eaten earlier that day.  And we had a short discussion about the amount of raisins that ended up in our respective bowls.  Mine had way too few.  I guess that's one of the drawbacks of pouring the first bowl from a new box.  The raisins have already settled towards the bottom of the box.

I remember Dylan saying, "Oh man.  We are so old."

Seriously, laying in bed at night talking about a Bran cereal.  It made us laugh.

Then a few days ago the topic if Raisin Bran came up once again.

"What's different about this Raisin Bran?" I asked.  "Did I buy a different brand?"

After a short discussion we came to the conclusion that we very much prefer Post Raisin Bran over Kelloggs Raisin Bran.

Again the comment was made that we are old.  However the shared belly laugh that followed made me feel not so old at all...but young & happy & in love & connected to my partner.  And for some reason I don't want to forget our current infatuation with Raisin Bran.

Hello There Bump

I've felt a little hesitant about writing about my pregnancy.  I guess I'm a little gun shy because of what happened with my last pregnancy.  Everything does seem to be moving along a lot smoother this time around & my belly is growing larger than it did with the last, so I'll take those as good signs that I should not be afraid.

Speaking of the growing belly.  I cannot believe how quickly my bump has arrived this time around.  I am one day shy of 14 weeks in the photo above.  I do not remember showing this early with Sadie & Claire's pregnancies.  After feeling really depressed about it for a while, I started asking around & all my experienced mommy friends are telling me that this is quite common with your third pregnancy & on.  My uterus has been stretched quite nicely a few times before & so I guess it knows exactly what to do this time around.  So I've given up & started wearing some maternity clothes.

I am starting to see some progress with my morning sickness easing up & regaining a bit of my energy.  I started cooking dinners again!  I'm way out of practice, but making meals for my family makes me feel like such a good wife & mother.  :)

I'm hoping to get back to sewing really soon.  I sure miss it.

Thank you, thank you for all your kinds words & congratulations about the pregnancy.  I know many of you have been around with me for a while & know the struggle it's been.  Thank you.  I hope to write more about what I believe to have been the cure to our period of infertility, or rather the way in which God answered our prayers soon.

In the mean time, please just tell me that I'm not that ginormous for being only 14 weeks pregnant.  Please.  :)

Spring Wedding

My youngest sister was married yesterday & we had a busy day filled with celebration.  The day was beautiful, just a little windy.  Hence our blowing hair in the photos.  I was happy to get a quick family photo while we were all dressed up.  I took my camera to the reception, but was too busy running around helping keep the punch bowl & the soft serve ice cream machine filled that I didn't take any photos!

It's been almost 11 years since Dylan & I were married in the same temple & had our reception party at the same location as my sister Kimberly & her new husband Alex did yesterday.  Believe me, we were having some fond memories.  But it was so exciting to celebrate the union of Kimberly & Alex.  We love them both so much.  My girls were calling him "Uncle Alex" long before they were even engaged.  :)  We were so happy to share in their most happy & special day.

Last night after family dinner, Claire was invited the spend the night over at one of my sister's house with a few of her other preschool aged cousins.  Claire of course thinks that a "feepover" is totally exciting & began running around the front yard yelling, "I'm having a feepover!!"

Upon hearing this news, Sadie became very excited, assuming that she would be included in the sleepover as well.  I quickly informed her, that she wasn't going because she needed to get to school in the morning.  Immediately the wailing began.  Very dramatic crying & carrying on.  This was like the worst news in the world for her.

We got Claire ready & sent her off.  Then I ran a bath for Sadie & started getting her ready for bed.  She cried during her bath alone & continued to sob & complain about how much she missed her sister for the rest of the night.  After getting her pajamas on, we told her that she could hang out with just mom & dad & it would be totally fun, but I found her on her bed, buried under blankets crying....still.

She walked around staring at a photo of her with her sister & I even found this little crumbled up piece of paper that she'd written a little note on:

It says, "I love you Claire Bare (Claire Bear) so much."

The girl finally calmed down & we played wii together for a bit.  It had been about an hour & a half since Claire left & I received a phone call from my sister.  Claire was feeling sad.  She wanted to come back home.  Sadie perked right up when she heard this news.  So we hopped in the car together & went to pick up Claire.

As we pulled into the driveway at my sister's house Sadie said,

"I hope there's not drama!!
 Drama means crying."

My response: "Oh!  Like you've been doing for the last hour!"

I just had to laugh.  She's a nut!  Dylan & I talked about it as we were going to bed & all I could think about was how difficult she'd going to be as a teenager.  Still it was cute that she missed her sister so.  She's not used to being the one that gets left behind.  In fact, I don't think it's ever happened before.

Oh, the drama!

Some Really Good News

Have you missed me? I know some of you have because you've started sending me e-mails wondering if I am okay. Well, I am in fact, okay. And I've missed you lots!

I've been working on a huge project. It is consuming me. It makes me really, really tired & really, really nauseous. It keeps me from being able to thoroughly do my housework & my shop work & my blogging. But it is the most exciting project & it will all be very worth it.

I've been growing a baby!!!

We are all super, super excited!  We've been hoping & praying for this for so long.

I am 11 weeks along & if all continues to go well, we will be welcoming a sweet baby into our family in September.  I'm really hoping to be feeling better soon, but this actually has been my best pregnancy as far as morning sickness goes.  I know it's because my mom & Dylan are helping me tons.  The girls now prefer for Grandma to do their hair in the morning.  I also have zofran & Dr. Pepper to thank for helping calm my stomach.

Please be patient with me over the next few weeks, but I hope to make a full blogging comeback soon.  :)
