Matching Skirts For My Girls....Oh, Yes I Did

I am not the type to dress my kids alike...but I just couldn't resist.


After some serious neglect of the sew along blog...I've decided to get it going again. We're currently working on the oliver + s lazy days skirt pattern. I love this pattern. Seriously, love it. It's super, super simple & easy. I didn't have ribbon on hand so I used double fold bias tape for the finishing edge & that worked great as well.


My girls love their skirts. I love that Sadie thinks I can make anything. But, instead of saying thank you for the skirt she immediately asked if I was going to make matching shirts. :) Um, no. However, I am going to make a few more of these skirts for each of them before I move on to something else. I'm planning on making more of their clothes & spring is a great time to jump on that.

Pot Holders

Nothing like waiting until the last minute. See, this is the whole reason for the sew along!! If not for the sew along, I would still be thinking in my mind that I need to make new pot holders for myself, but I wouldn't have these cuties all completed & in my kitchen drawer.



***I'm having a happy day today because I hit 100 sales in my etsy shop. This gives me so much confidence. Yippee!!! Happy day. :)

Sew Along Table Runner

I completed my table runner for the sew along while 3 feet of snow drifted into my driveway. Next time I'll remember to iron my fabric before I start working with it & maybe it will look a little smoother. I decided not to make it long enough to hang over the edge, because I know Claire would pull it off. Overall I'm pleased with it, but I think that the table needs a centerpiece now. I'm thinking some sort of rectangular container with grass planted in it.

I've created a separate blog for the sew along. You can find it here. My brain was starting to feel a little jumbled with all of it here on my personal blog. I think this setup will work out for the best.

So please change your bookmarks. Sorry to change it up on all of you already, but I figured better sooner than later. :)

Sew Along Info

Thanks to all those who decided to join in on the sew along!! I think this is going to be a lot of fun. I will be listing the names of all who have contacted me so far along my sidebar. I also set up a flickr group here. If you don't have a flickr account yet, I encourage you to get one. It's free!

One great thing about the sew along is that you can decide to join in with us at any time. Just contact me & I'll add your name to the list. So let's get going with the current project & remember to encourage each other along.

The project for Feb./March is pot holders & table runners. You can make one or the other, or both if you'd like! You can make multiples for gifts or just one set for yourself. There really are no rules. Just remember to share photos in the flickr group or on your own blog. We'll finish up with this project by the end of March. At that time we'll start on something new.

Now for a few pot holder ideas & some table runner ideas as well.
